The City of Vermillion is a proud official partner of the 2020 Census and encourages all citizens to help "Shape Our Future" by taking part in the process.

The U.S. Constitution mandates a census of the population every 10 years. The 2020 Census will count everyone who lives in the U.S. as of April 1, 2020 (Census Day). Census statistics are used to determine the number of seats each state holds in the U.S. House of Representatives and to inform how billions of dollars in federal funds will be allocated by local, state, and federal lawmakers every year for the next 10 years.

Beginning March 12th, for the first time ever, households can respond online. To help facilitate a more complete count, Census Stations will be located throughout Clay County (more information regarding specific locations to come).

All information obtained through the census is strictly confidential and only used for census purposes.
