NOTICE OF HEARING

PETITION FOR ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Vermillion Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, July 13th, 2020, at 5:30 p.m. in the Large Conference Room, City Hall, 25 Center Street, Vermillion, South Dakota to hear, consider and act upon an application submitted by the Vermillion Chamber and Development Company and Mr. Kevin Bliss for a proposal to amend Bliss Pointe Planned Development District’s Area C and Area D. The amendments for Area C include, but are not limited to, allowing single-family detached dwellings, and excluding all forms of multiple-family dwellings. The amendments for Area D include, but are not limited to, allowing for motor vehicle sales, display, and rental. The property is legally described as:

A part of Tract 1 Exc. Bliss Pointe Addition, Bliss 3rd Addition; Lot 13, Block 6, Bliss Pointe Addition; Lot 11, Block 6, Bliss Pointe Addition; and, Block 6 Exc Lots 1A, 2A, 3, 4A, 5A, 5B, 6A, 8, 9, 10. 11 & 13, Bliss Pointe Addition, City of Vermillion, Clay County, South Dakota.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Governing Body of the City of Vermillion, South Dakota, will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, the 20th day of July, 2020 in the City Council Chambers at 25 Center Street in the City of Vermillion, at which time the said Governing Body will hear, consider and act upon an application submitted by the Vermillion Chamber and Development Company and Mr. Kevin Bliss for a proposal to amend Bliss Pointe Planned Development District’s Area C and Area D.  The amendments for Area C include, but are not limited to, allowing single-family detached dwellings, and excluding all forms of multiple-family dwellings.  The amendments for Area D include, but are not limited to, allowing for motor vehicle sales, display, and rental.  The property is legally described as:

A part of Tract 1 Exc. Bliss Pointe Addition, Bliss 3rd Addition; Lot 13, Block 6, Bliss Pointe Addition; Lot 11, Block 6, Bliss Pointe Addition; and, Block 6 Exc Lots 1A, 2A, 3, 4A, 5A, 5B, 6A, 8, 9, 10. 11 & 13, Bliss Pointe Addition, City of Vermillion, Clay County, South Dakota.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a link for a virtual meeting will be made available for any person to appear or be heard upon all matters pertaining to the said zoning change.  The link will be published with the agenda for the meetings.  It is strongly recommended that the public subscribe for electronic notifications of all meetings held by the City Council, City Boards, or City Commissions, at https://www.vermillion.us/list.aspx#agendaCenter.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that at the times and places aforesaid any person may appear and be heard upon all matters pertaining to the said zone change. The hearing is open to all interested parties.  Information regarding accessibility for the disabled may be obtained by calling the Office of the City Manager at 677-7050.  Anyone unable to attend may submit written comments prior to the hearing.
