1. How do I become a volunteer firefighter?

Complete a City of Vermillion Employment Application and submit to City Hall.

Attention: Applications for Fire Chief can be picked up at City Hall in the Administration Office, or from the City of Vermillion website. Training and equipment is paid for by the Fire Department. For more information or if you have questions contact the Fire Department at 605-677-7098.

2. Where can I take a CPR class?

All of our Vermillion Community CPR classes are sponsored by the Vermillion/Clay County EMS Association. Course schedule, location, and more information about Vermillion CPR can be found at Vermillion Community CPR on Eventbrite

 

3. How do I schedule a tour of the Fire Station?

Please, call the Fire Department at  605-677-7098 to arrange a time and day to tour the fire station.

4. Can I have a recreational fire pit?

Yes, you can have a recreational fire pit as long as it adheres to the Outdoor Fire Ordinance. See requirements in the Recreational Outdoor Fire Ordinance.

5. How do I inquire about or pay my ambulance bill?

Ambulance billing is completed by Physician's Claims Company, Inc. You can contact them at 1-877-882-9911.

6. Where can I have my car seat installed by a certified professional?

Vermillion Fire and EMS has a certified car seat technician! Please call the Vermillion Fire Station at 605-677-7098 to make an appointment.
