Building permit requests are done by completing the Building Permit Application. The form is submitted to the Building Official via the website. You will be notified after the permit has been reviewed and approved by the Building Official. The approved permit will be sent to you via e-mail or USPS. The City Finance Office will mail you an invoice for the required fees within a few days following approval. You have 24 hours after any fall of snow or freezing rain to remove snow or spread a suitable material on the sidewalk to prevent the sidewalk from being slippery and dangerous to pedestrian travel. After 24 hours, if your sidewalk has not been cleared you will be fined. If necessary, the City will remove the snow/ice from your sidewalk at the property owner’s expense.
